Hi there friends!

I know we are all seriously overwhelmed with finals. Whether that be testing finals in college, the final season of your favorite show, or finally doing your laundry that has been stacked in that "chair" for 3 weeks now. I know when I hear the word "final" my heart drops.

Think back to when you were a child and your parents gave you that final warning, so you straightened up and kicked your best behavior into high gear... that is what I mean. We associate such negative connotations with "final" that it tends to make us stress out, become overwhelmed, procrastinate, and even question what in the world are we doing with our lives (...like why have I not regularly done my laundry!? It is now 3 feet hight?!). Final is a coming to the end of a series: that pile of laundry, the Great British Baking Show, or testing on the subject that you have been studying this whole semester.

Now I bet your asking why I am talking about the word "Final." Well, that is just it: it is a word. However we perceive a word is how we will let it impact us. Words are powerful, meaningful, and insightful... if you let them be.

Instead of looking at the word "final(s)" with stress, procrastination, and anticipating the worst, look at it as a beginning. This is the time that you begin to tackle that mound of laundry. This is the time you conclude a show or book series that you can reflect and learn from. This is a time to work with all of your might to begin a new chapter of life. As summer approaches, you do not want to look back knowing you could have handled things differently, rather word hard now, finish strong, and begin the that new season of your life with a bang!

As this month of April and these finals come to an end, enjoy the moments that led you here. You have grown as a person, for these endings lead into new beginnings. Tackle the finals in life that will spur you onto the next great adventure!

Finish strong and work hard because "Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masters" Colossians 3:23

Sprint across your finish line and celebrate the feeling of bliss from the hard work that led you there! Here is to your NEW beginning from a fruitful final.
